Premier Li hat gerade die Chinesischen Internetanbieter dazu verdonnert das Internet schneller und billiger zu machen. In Studien zur Internetanbindung und Internetgeschwindigkeit (netindex.com, akamai.com) belegt China die hinteren Plaetze. Die Internetanbieter sind meist Staatliche Betriebe, die nicht wirklich im Wettbewerb stehen und somit wenig eigenstaendiges Interesse an Verbesserungen haben. Mal schaun ob das noch was wird, mit dem Internet in China.

“The worldwide average Internet connection speed was 4.5 megabytes per second at the end of 2014 while the speed in China was 3.4 mbps, which ranked the country 82nd globally, according to Internet service provider Akamai Technologies. The country with the fastest Internet connection was South Korea, whose average speed exceeded 22 mbps, according to the company.”

“By the end of this year, the average broadband speed for users in major municipalities and provincial capitals will be increased to 20 megabytes per second (Mbps) from the current 9 Mbps, said Shang Bing, the MIIT’s deputy minister. Other urban areas will be improved to 10 Mbps from the current 7 Mbps.”

“China has the largest number of Internet users, with 648 million having Internet access at the end of last year, according to China Internet Network Information Center. Internet use in China more than doubled in five years, reaching 46.9 percent of the population.”
