«Deutschland ist derzeit weder Leitmarkt noch Leitanbieter von Elektromobilität», heißt es in einer Untersuchung des Autoexperten Stefan Bratzel vom Branchen-Institut CAM in Bergisch Gladbach. Zum Leitmarkt für Elektromobilität sei China aufgestiegen. China habe die USA überholt.
In Deutschland allerdings sind Elektroautos bislang noch eine Seltenheit. Bis September wurden laut Bratzel nur 15 000 Elektrofahrzeuge abgesetzt, was trotz einer Steigerung von 63 Prozent nur einem Marktanteil von 0,63 Prozent entspreche. In China sei der Absatz von E-Autos seit Jahresbeginn um 135 Prozent auf rund 100 000 gestiegen, damit waren es mehr als in den USA. Weltweit wurden rund 335 000 Elektrofahrzeuge verkauft, der globale Marktanteil liege aber bei nur 0,65 Prozent.

Die China-Marke-Changan, unter anderem Joint-Venture-Partner von Suzuki, Mazda, Peugeot und Ford, investiert in den nächsten fünf Jahren rund 4,7 Milliarden US-Dollar in Forschung und Entwicklung. Der Großteil fließt in den Bereich Elektromobilität.

Beijing Vows Drastic Air Quality Standards by 2017 / 1. December 2015
Beijing’s environmental protection office says it intends to impose the world’s toughest air quality standards—including measures to phase in reductions of as much as 50% for allowable vehicle emissions—within two years. The new regulations, which the agency didn’t describe in detail, would require that at least half of new vehicles sold in the city by 2020 meet the lower standards, Automotive News China reports. The government has not indicated what sanctions it would impose on carmakers that fail to meet the limits. The office estimates Beijing’s current vehicle population exceeds 5.5 million units and is expanding by 600,000 units per year. The agency estimates vehicles account for about one-third of Beijing’s “PM 2.5” airborne particulates.

Amid severe smog, Beijing orders halt to production / By ZHENG JINRAN (China Daily)
Beijing required over 2,100 major companies in polluting industries to suspend their production. It also ordered all construction sites to stop work as well to cut emissions, after issuing an orange alert, the second-highest response to air pollution, on Sunday.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection has sent several inspection teams to supervise the implementation, saying on Monday that at least 11 construction sites and cement-making plants continued to work despite the restriction.

Die chinesische Währung Yuan wird neben Dollar, Pfund, Yen und Euro zur fünften Weltreservewährung. “Meilenstein der Integration der chinesischen Wirtschaft in das globale Finanzsystem”.
Einige Experten erwarten, dass die Aufnahme des Yuan langfristig eine Wende und damit das Ende der Dominanz des US-Dollar einläutet. Schätzungen zufolge könnten rund eine Billion Yuan, das sind rund 147 Milliarden Euro, in den chinesischen Anleihemarkt fließen, sobald der Yuan im Währungskorb des IWF landet. To re-focus the local OEM and also to locally manufacture cars for Tier2/3 cities, the government counteracts and reduces the VAT for small cars. Just like this! Is this predicatble? Trotz der Marktschwäche in China gibt es dort auch 2015 große Gewinner, zu finden sind die im SUV-Segment. Dabei hängen chinesische OEM beim Wachstumstempo etablierte Größen wie VW, BMW oder Ford ab. Das geht aus einer Zahlen hervor, die IHS Automotive exklusiv für das jetzt erschienene Sonderheft Global Automotive Business erarbeitet hat.
Während das Gesamtmarktwachstum um die zwei Prozent pendeln dürfte und in diesem Jahr 23,5 Millionen Fahrzeuge neu zugelassen werden (2014: 23,1 Millionen), liegt das Wachstum der China-OEM deutlich darüber. Geschuldet ist das vor allem dem stark wachsenden SUV-Segment. Auf den Megatrend sind Marken wie Great Wall oder die im Westen gänzlich unbekannte Zotye am konsequentesten aufgesprungen und beweisen in hochfrequenter Befeuerung der Märkte mit neuen Modellen ihre Flexibilität. Das drückt sich in Zahlen bei den Marken selbst und im Markt generell aus. So hat beispielsweise Great Wall die Absätze der ausschließlich auf SUV-Modelle fokussierten Submarke Haval in den ersten neun Monaten des Jahres um 45 Prozent gesteigert. Von 750.000 bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt verkauften Fahrzeugen der Marke waren 550.000 Geländegänger. Chinas Führung hat eine drastische Reform der Bevölkerungspolitik beschlossen. Die Regierung gibt die strikte Ein-Kind-Politik auf, die seit den Siebzigerjahren galt. Künftig sollen Ehepaare zwei Kinder haben dürfen, wie die Kommunistische Partei in Peking bekannt gab. Experten warnen bereits seit Längerem vor einer Überalterung Chinas. Die Zahl der Senioren wachse rapide, während der Anteil der arbeitenden Bevölkerung schrumpfe. Nach Uno-Schätzungen wird es in dem Land bis 2050 rund 440 Millionen Menschen geben, die über 60 Jahre alt sind. Ende 2013 hatte die Kommunistische Partei in Peking angekündigt, dass Ehepaare in bestimmten Regionen des Landes zwei Kinder haben dürfen, wenn ein Elternteil Einzelkind ist. Die Zeiten des Turbowachstums in China sind vorbei. Die Konjunktur hat sich zuletzt drastisch abgekühlt, das Bruttoinlandsprodukt dürfte in diesem Jahr so wenig zulegen wie seit einem Vierteljahrhundert nicht mehr. Der IWF rechnet für 2015 nur noch mit 6,8 Prozent.
Die Entwicklung solle sich künftig nicht nur auf die reine Wachstumsrate konzentrieren, sondern vielmehr auf die Qualität. Viele Industriefirmen leiden unter dem schwächeren Wachstum und können ihre Darlehen nicht mehr tilgen, Banken machen die faulen Kredite zu schaffen. Um den Abschwung zu bremsen, hat die chinesische Zentralbank binnen eines Jahres sechs Mal ihren Leitzins gesenkt, zuletzt im Oktober.
Li Keqiang machte auch Umweltschutzmaßnahmen für die Konjunkturabkühlung verantwortlich. Die kommunistische Regierung fürchtet wegen der Luft- und Wasserverschmutzung soziale Unruhen und hat versprochen, verschärft gegen die Verseuchung der Umwelt vorzugehen. October, 2015: Be Captain! China Cup 2015

We started our sailing team when I arrived in China in October 2014. The team new, unexperienced but very motivated and ambitious. A good foundation to start some dream – the dream to participate at the China Cup! We got to work, putting the dream to reality. Theory, training and participating on various regattas over the season. Hard work sometimes. Sailing in Qingdao in a snowstorm (!) last Christmas. In August a Typhon hit Shanghai when we had a race at a nearby lake. We created a good teamwork, with everybody growing more confidence on his jobs.
Early this year we applied for the China Cup. As we had no track record or such, there was little hope to get accepted. We put all in, put my name, send lots of documents, had calls and talks. In Mid September – we got a boat!!! A dream comes true. Participating at the top China sailing event in ShenZhen with 110 boats and the best teams from all over the world. China Cup: “Approved by the General Administration of Sport of China, the regatta is held annually and each year it attracts over 100 boats with 1000 sailors from more than 33 nationalities to compete in the event, gaining wide attention from sailing community and international media.”
Hell. This is a huge, international regatta with top players from the Olympics, Americas Cup, Marine Schools … and us! The大山帆船队/ Big Mountain Sailing Team, Skipper: Dirk Geiger, GER. WoW! Yes, we are part of it.
Business leaves not much time for other things, especially in the dynamic china automotive market. For the China Cup, the team already meats on Thursday, 29th Oct, to prepare the boat, registration, etc. Friday some test sailing. Saturday: Race Time. In morning I arrive from Shanghai and we meet up at the dock, ready for racing in the south china sea. Warm water, but also strong winds of some 20+ knots and high waves ahead. Off we go. Day 1 left some room for improvement. Day 2 was very strong wind and we broke the Spinnaker Pole after the first round. Even without full sail coverage, on Day 2 we improved our ranking to 7th place. Day 3 I had to be back in Shanghai, the team had to race themselves, which was a little more difficult. Even got a penalty. No harm done and all full of fun!

GM verdoppelt Kapazität für China-Billigmarke Baojun / 28.09.2015, 15:29 Uhr
Das Drei-Joint-Venture SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) setzt weiter auf die in China erfolgreiche Submarke Baojun und hat die Produktionskapazität im Werk Guangxi auf 800.000 Einheiten glatt verdoppelt. Gemeinsam kommen die China-Marken im ersten Halbjahr auf 1,15 Millionen verkaufte Fahrzeuge. Das entspricht einem Plus von 10,9 Prozent. Als erstes Import-Modell hat es der BMW i3 auf die Liste der steuerbefreiten NEVs in China geschafft. Dadurch steigen die Verkaufschancen des Stromers erheblich.
Ob dahinter ein grundsätzlicher Sinneswandel der chinesischen Regierung steckt, ist nicht bekannt. Auch nicht, welche speziellen Kriterien BMW erfüllt hat. Lange hat Tesla darum gerungen, auf die offizielle Liste von New Energy Vehicles zu kommen (NEV) und hat sich dabei mehrmals eine Abfuhr geholt, was nach Tesla-Eigeneinschätzung ein Grund ist, dass der Elektroauto-Pionier beim Absatz weit hinter den Erwartungen zurück geblieben ist. Als erster ausländischer OEM hat es BMW vor wenigen Wochen mit dem i3 auf die NEV-Liste geschafft, durch die unter anderem die 10-prozentige Kaufsteuer entfällt.
Support Locals
In China schäumt seit Monaten die Nachfrage nach SUV hoch, in immer kürzeren Abständen schießen vor allem chinesische OEM immer neue Modelle in den Markt. Aktuell haben eine Reihe Hersteller, unter ihnen Changan und FAW, weitere SUV angekündigt. Das führt auch dazu, dass größere Fahrzeuge auf die Strasse kommen. Dagegen war der Absatz kleiner Autos zuletzt deutlich rückläufig. Nun steuert die Regierung mit einem Programm dagegen, mit dem man einerseits die zuletzt insgesamt schwache Autoindustrie stärken möchte, andererseits auch der Verkauf von Kleinwagen angeschoben werden soll. Dazu wurde mit sofortiger Wirkung die Kaufsteuer auf Autos mit kleinen Motoren von 10 auf 5 Prozent halbiert.

Die Anzahl der chinesischen Milliardäre hat sich in diesem Jahr beinahe verdoppelt – es sind 242 mehr als im Vorjahr（596 DOLLAR BILLIONAIRES IN CHINA）. Die Milliardäre kommen vor allem aus dem Bereich IT und insbesondere dem Onlinehandel, der Entertainment-Branche und anderen Dienstleistungsbereichen. Ganz vorne im aktuellen Ranking der reichsten Chinesen steht den demnach Wang Jianlin. Der Chef von Chinas größtem privaten Immobilienkonzern Wanda konnte sein Vermögen laut “Hurun“ von umgerechnet 21,1 Milliarden Euro auf 29,9 Milliarden erhöhen. Jack Ma, Gründer des Internethändlers Alibaba und Erstplatzierter des Vorjahres, landete in diesem Jahr mit einem geschätzten Vermögen von 19,76 Milliarden Euro auf dem zweiten Platz. 2014 waren es demnach noch 21,8 Milliarden Euro gewesen – Medienberichten zufolge waren Kursverluste der Alibaba-Aktie in New York der Grund für das Abschmelzen von Mas Vermögen.

Es ist nicht die Aufgabe von Staaten und Völkern, für andere durchschaubar und verständlich zu sein, doch das Rätsel, das die chinesische Wirtschaft der Welt derzeit aufgibt, ist eine wirklich harte Nuss. Versinkt Chinas Volkswirtschaft gerade im Morast und reißt noch ein paar andere mit – oder setzt sie nach Jahrzehnten eines irren Höhenflugs zu einer sanften Landung an? Am Montag wird China die magische Sieben wohl unterschreiten, zum ersten Mal seit der Weltfinanzkrise 2009. Davon gehen fast alle Institute aus, die in den vergangenen Tagen dazu befragt wurden. Einer der Gründe liegt auf der Hand: Viele Sektoren der chinesischen Wirtschaft haben nach dem Börsencrash im Sommer starke Einbußen erlitten. Ein anderer Grund ist weniger bekannt: Peking stellt ausgerechnet am Montag seine Statistik um und zählt die Quartale von nun an getrennt – statt wie bisher kumulativ vom Jahresbeginn an. Die neue Methode sei genauer und erfasse kurzfristige Wirtschaftsschwankungen besser, sagt der stellvertretende Statistik-Chef.
Für die letzten drei Monate bedeutet das nichts Gutes: Umfragen der Nachrichtenagentur Bloomberg und dem “Wall Street Journal” zufolge dürfte die Zahl am Montag bei 6,7 oder 6,8 liegen. Weltweit haben Politiker und Unternehmer auf diese Zahl gewartet, am frühen Montagmorgen gab die Nationale Statistikbehörde in Peking nun die Wachstumsrate des vergangenen Quartals bekannt: Demnach legte Chinas Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) zwischen Juli und September um 6,9 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum zu. Das heißt, zum ersten Mal seit der Weltfinanzkrise 2009 ist das Wachstum auf unter sieben Prozent gefallen. Dennoch wurden damit die Erwartungen von Analysten übertroffen – sie hatten mit einer Wachstumsrate von 6,7 oder 6,8 gerechnet. Als Gründe für den Rückgang wurden unter anderem der Börsencrash im Sommer angegeben, aber auch eine Umstellung der Statistik.

Cheerleaders for the office? Chinese tech companies hiring ‘pretty’ women to motivate male employees by chatting, playing ping pong and buying them breakfast.
If you look at many of the big tech companies across the US, they attract employees not just by offering great pay, but with perks including on-site restaurants, laundry services, generous holiday and maternity leave, and of course bonuses. In China, tech companies are embracing a new initiative to motivate their staff: cheerleaders. Apparently the practice of hiring cheerleaders is currently reserved for the Internet companies located in China. These male-dominated environments are filled with programmers who are “terrible at socializing.” So the HR department decided to hire a number of female programmer cheerleaders to enhance the environment, support staff, and hopefully keep them working hard.

The State Council, China’s cabinet, asked local authorities on Tuesday to lift purchase restrictions and remove traffic controls for NEVs, while retaining curbs for cars running on fossil fuels, to stimulate sales and development of eco-friendly vehicles. Buyers of electric cars will be able to obtain license plates without applying through the usual lottery systems * in place in some major cities. On Sept 23, the government promised to build more charging stations in urban areas and fast-charge facilities between cities. New residential complexes should build chargers or save space for them, while no less than 10 percent of public parking lots should have charging facilities **. In the first eight months of 2015, NEV sales surged 270 percent to 108,654, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In addition, experts believe a robust NEV sector is possible to shore up the gloomy automobile market. China’s automobile production and sales continued year-on-year drops for a fourth month in August, down 8.4 percent and 3 percent in August respectively.

“Made in China 2025” is the first 10-year action plan designed to transform China from a manufacturing giant into a world manufacturing power. The 10 key sectors are new information technology, numerical control tools and robotics, aerospace equipment, ocean engineering equipment and high-tech ships, railway equipment, energy saving and new energy vehicles, power equipment, new materials, biological medicine and medical devices, and agricultural machinery. The implementation of the “Made in China 2025” plan will be market-oriented, though guided by the government, according to the notice.
“Chinese enterprises are more aware of the need to nurture their brands as part of the ‘go global’ drive,” said Wang Haizhong, a brand strategy researcher with Sun Yat-sen University. The 2014 Fortune Global 500 list featured 100 Chinese companies, in contrast to 128 United States enterprises on the list. “Chinese enterprises are hardworking, entrepreneurial, market-sensitive and capital-sufficient,” said Wang.

Disney Resort Shanghai: The Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology recently ordered 153 factories near the resort to shut down by the end of next year – slightly later than the park’s grand opening in the first half of 2016 – because of their high pollution risks, low energy efficiency and safety issues.
Ranked the 14th most polluted out of the country’s 34 provinces in April, Shanghai has seen a slight drop in pollution since the introduction of stricter environmental laws early this year. The latest report from Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau showed a 1.9 percent decrease of the average PM2.5 density – 52 micrograms per cubic meter – between January and August, comparing to that of the same period from last year. Under the new regulations, the bureau has reported a total of 1,678 violations since January, collecting fines totalling 100 million RMB.
However, Shanghai’s PM2.5 density is still five times the World Health Organization’s standard – 10 micrograms per cubic meter on average in a one year period – due to steel plants, cement factories and power plants in the greater Shanghai area.

China has a long history of churning out knockoffs, or “shanzhai.”
More than a month before the Apple Watch launch date, China was already awash with clones. Knockoff versions of the Apple Watch can be found at Huaqiangbei electronics market in the southern city of Shenzhen, and others are being sold nationwide via popular e-commerce websites. The fakes mimic the design and style of Apple’s (AAPL, Tech30) new offering, right down to the digital crown. With names like “Ai Watch” and “D-Watch,” they cost between 250 yuan and 500 yuan ($40 to $80). Most run an Android operating system that has been made to look like an Apple interface. They even have snazzy Apple-like icons on the home screen.
In August, a 39-year-old man in eastern China was arrested for establishing a fake branch of China Construction Bank, the world’s second largest bank by assets. The operation had card readers, teller counters and authentic-looking signs. After seeing the fake Apple Chinese store, I was pretty much prepared to see a knockoff store of anything. They now copied the pride of Sweden: Ikea. What’s amazing is that 11 Furniture is in the same city as the fake Apple store (Kunming)! Whether it’s an Ikea-copy , fake iPhone or duplicates of Luxushandtaschen: China is for its creative copies known. In the north-eastern city of Shenyang is according to the German magazine ”Wirtschaftswoche” a complete dm-store in a shopping Mall built. After a fake Apple store, a fake Ikea and a fake branch of one of the world’s biggest banks, China’s innovative copycats seem to be scaling the value chain: all the way up to Goldman Sachs, the international investment bank. Nestled in the boomtown of Shenzhen, bordering Hong Kong, Goldman Sachs (Shenzhen) Financial Leasing Company is the latest case to emerge.

September, 2015: Inner Mongolia takes lead in kicking off national soccer plan!
The autonomous region’s government contributed almost 50 million yuan ($7.85 million) to facility upgrades and talent training in 613 selected primary and secondary schools, where soccer is taught as part of the mandatory physical education curriculum, in the first half of 2015. It is part of a national plan to build 50,000 such schools by 2020. “The next major step is to cooperate with the educational authorities and sports institutes to host more clinics for youth soccer coaches and relevant staff,”.
Early in March, the State Council issued a soccer reform blueprint aimed at promoting the game on campuses, building more soccer fields and optimizing the once bureaucratic management of the game, with the ultimate goal that China will qualify for the men’s World Cup. The vast territory covered by grasslands and mass sports participation as an ethnic tradition won the central government’s favor in choosing Inner Mongolia as a pilot area to kick off the soccer development plan, Wu said.

Probably the event of most immediate concern for all of us is the predicted arrival of Typhoon Chan-Hom – part of a cluster of three typhoons that have developed in the north west pacific ocean in the past couple of days. Two of these typhoons, Chan-hom and Linfa, will hit Mainland China. Chan-Hom is forecast to reach the coast of Zhejiang on the night of Friday 10 July. Chan-Hom shouldn’t strike Shanghai directly, although the city will be affected. Fortunately for us it’s only going to be a super typhoon. Shit, actually that doesn’t sound so good does it? Indeed, super typhoons are storms that can reach maximum wind speeds of 150mph.
Monday having been the coldest July day on record in 112 years (with the mercury barely reaching 21 degrees in Xujiahui and a mere 18 degrees in Pudong), once Plum Rain season finishes (and presumably it will at some point), we’re going to be in store for another absolute scorcher of a summer, with temperatures forecast to top out at 39 degrees.

A Chinese university has launched a website featuring profiles of its students and invited potential employers to bid for them, as some 7.5 million Chinese graduates prepare to hit the stagnant job market this year. The “Talent Shop”, hosted by eBay equivalent Taobao, was announced by Kunming University on Thursday at its graduation ceremony for 4,650 students whose prospects are dimmed by the country’s plateauing economy, Xinhua news agency reported. Each graduate is pictured on the site along with their information. Companies that show interest can pay a 1,000-yuan deposit, and the university will help set up interviews between them.

Fourteen gangs involved in the smuggling of frozen meat products that pose huge health risks have been hunted down and the products seized in a recent crackdown, the General Administration of Customs said. Customs officials sealed more than 100,000 metric tons of smuggled frozen meat worth up to 3 billion yuan ($483 million), including frozen chicken wings, beef and pork, the administration said. The crackdown took place in June in 14 provinces and regions.

Ein Autofahrer stoppt mit seinem Pkw und zwingt den hinter ihm fahrenden Wagen zum Halten. Er springt wütend heraus, reißt die Tür eines roten, von einer Frau gesteuerten Fahrzeuges auf. Was dann folgt, schockiert Chinas Internetgemeinde. Online sehen sie eine über Handy gefilmte Szene brutaler Gewalt. Der Mann zerrt die Frau auf die Straße, prügelt auf sie ein, wirft sie zu Boden und tritt immer wieder gegen ihren Kopf. Passanten filmen seinen Überfall und stellen ihn ins Netz. Die Empörung über das sich am 3. Mai in Südwestchinas Metropole Chengdu am helllichten Tag abspielende Straßendrama bringt das soziale Netz auf den Siedepunkt.

China, which renewed a tax-exemption policy for new energy vehicles on May 18, is calling on Chinese automakers to submit a list of their models eligible for the promoting program. Pure electric commercial vehicles, plug-in hybrids and fuel cell vehicles are eligible for the plan, which gives vehicle and vessel use tax exemptions of between 60 yuan and 5,400 yuan a year for owners of the vehicles. This is the fourth time that the central government has rolled out a tax-free plan for new-energy vehicle owners, following moves in August, October and December. Three government agencies — the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Transport — will examine information on the listed models and publish the approved cars for the public.
In 2012, the central government introduced an exemption from annual taxes for pure electric, fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. That tax exemption policy is no longer applicable. Local governments have also been helping the new-energy vehicle industry through the use of subsidies. Some cities grant free license plates to new-energy vehicle buyers but auction off plates to purchasers of gas-based vehicles. Recently, the Beijing government announced that pure electric cars will not be included into its ban from city roads one-weekday every week. A car that runs on gas is being eligible for half of the standard tax deduction in the new plan if the auto meets a certain fuel efficiency level.

This latest round of EV incentives is especially beneficial for foreign companies that have invested in joint ventures in China. For example, the Denza EV is the work of the combined efforts of Daimler and BYD, and thanks to these and other benefits, the $59,000 Denza should see its price slashed to below $40,000 (or less!) when all is said and done. Unfortunately companies like Tesla and BMW, which sell in China but haven’t developed joint ventures with domestic automakers, will miss out on these new incentives. While the 10% sales tax exemption applies to all EVs, regardless of where they’re built, those extra incentives could convince buyers to give their money to local brands instead of foreign entities. In a market that could easily see 20 million new cars sold per year in the coming decade, that could add up to a lot of lost incentives…and sales.

On May 21, customers and executives from the Audi sales division at Sino-German joint venture FAW Volkswagen celebrated exceeding sales of 3 million units of Audi cars since 1988.Ceremonies were also held simultaneously in other cities, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Dalian.
The company launched a number of commemorative editions of the Audi A6L, A4L, A3 and Q3. Audi has been the biggest premium car provider in China for more than two decades. Last year, it moved 575,077 vehicles in China. It will introduce the A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid car to China this year as an import. The marque also plans to manufacture the A6L e-tron plug-in hybrid sedan in China next year.

Thailand is pulling out all stops to entertain some 12,700 Infinitus China delegates. Travelling in groups of between 2,000 and 3,000, the massive Infinitus China delegation is making its way through Thailand this month with each employee scoring a six-night trip.
The intinerary includes three nights in Bangkok and three nights in Pattaya, staying at four and five-star hotels and occupying around 38,000 room nights in total.
